Futurama's "man with no name" does have a name - Captain Zapp Brannigan. He has a real velour uniform and obnoxious attitude to match. And somehow, I relate really hard to this awkward, terrible excuse for a human being...

Zapp is a handmade costume that I am a weird mix of proud of and disappointed in. I have more information in the making-of video linked below but in short he involved trying a lot of new things with varying levels of success. However, I still think I looked great in this cosplay!

He certainly is one to be upgraded or (more likely) completely remade in future. I also want to customise the scifi gun - as usual, this is a prop that my ex-husband James found for me at an opshop. He was also responsible for the other props featured in my ICoN 2024 shoots.

ICoN 2024 Day 1 Vlog

ICoN 2024 was a blast...and I think that comes across in the video! The Friday was my most full-on as a cosplayer with two Zapp shoots followed by an epic three-cosplayer, two-photographer Good Omens shoot.

After the duo shoot, James was awesome enough to take solo photos of me back at our Airbnb. We hadn't gone to ICoN planning to do Zapp pinups, but the bed area seemed too perfect not to! And naturally, I had a lot of fun hamming it up.

James stepped out from behind the camera to cosplay with me at ICoN as the Lee Lemon (aka Leela in disguise) to my Zapp. However, he can be a little shy about being in photos so I'm not sharing our combined shots here.
